A quick word on Mymy

Mymy at the Annex

Mymy... My favourite KFC (Korean Fried Chicken) place in the GTA. The first time I went to Mymy was with my friend V after an epic walk to Casa Loma in an attempt to shed some pounds... I don't think we shed even a gram that night. In fact, we probably gained our weight in chicken and ban chan!

Since that first visit, Mymy has opened up another location at the Annex (394 Bloor St W). Although it isn't as busy or as lively as their North York location (9 Spring Garden Ave), they still serve the same delicious KFC. When my sister and I go, we always get the half-and-half deal of gold cheese and Korean spicy chicken. We never order any sides mainly because the portions are so large, sides would be overkill. The appetizers (popcorn at the North York location and shrimp chips at the Annex location) and the unlimited ban chan are more than enough to "cleanse your palette" so to speak.

For the gold cheese, the peeps at Mymy sprinkle cheese powder and a generous helping of freshly grated cheese over their deep fried chicken; for the Korean spicy chicken, they slather the chicken in this cinammony, tangy, nutty sauce that you just want to lick off your fingers.

One half-and-half deal is good for two people, and it could work for three with a side. It comes up to around $38, tax and tip included.
