Merienda
We celebrated dad's birthday a few weeks ago downtown, beginning with an afternoon at Yorkville. While dad was busy playing backgammon, the girls of the family had a brief merienda at
Carole's Cheesecake Cafe (114 Cumberland St), where delicious tuna melt, coffee ice cream, and strawberry cheesecake were devoured to oblivion.

Later that evening, we moseyed over to
Jacobs & Co. Steakhouse (12 Brant St) for our dinner reservation. We ordered the Caesar salad (shown above), USDA Prime Black Angus Rib Eye, baked potato, mashed potatoes, and fresh peas to share between the four of us. It was certainly a feast worthy of dad (d'awww!).

Creme Brulee
For dessert, we ordered the creme brulee and the chocolate walnut
brownie, both of which were absolutely divine. They were neither too
sweet nor heavy and were a great way to end the meal.

Petit Fours
As we were paying for our bill, we were handed a complimentary plate of
petit fours and coffee cake–a practice that is certainly unique to
Jacobs.

To this day, Jacobs still remains to be my favourite restaurant in the GTA. Unparalleled food and service! I can't wait to go back. <3
Belated happy birthday, dad! I love you!
