Congratulations to my cousin K and her husband R on their wedding!
They got married over the weekend after being together for over twelve years.
Wedding Snapshots
The wedding began with a ceremony officiated by uncle Larry, who had flown in from Manila to see his niece marry the love of her life. The ceremony was intimate and light-hearted, thanks to our uncle's sense of humour and the easy-going nature of the couple. It lasted for over an hour and ended with the newly married couple walking through a cloud of bubbles outside the church. The festivities continued at the wedding reception with drinks, hors d'oeuvres, and the entrance of the wedding party. R and K entered the room last and started the evening with their first dance as Mr. and Mrs. M.
It was soon time for dinner, dessert, and cake cutting! The "cake" (a combination of a small wedding cake and two cupcake trees) was baked my aunt. She made the flowers in Vancouver and brought them along with her on the drive to Calgary. She finished baking and assembling the cake a few hours before the reception. Talk about a photo finish! Over the course of the entire evening, speeches were given by the emcees, the parents of the bride and groom, and the co-best men.
The highlights of the evening included the surprise video from L and C and the incredibly sweet speech from the maid of honour. The evening ended with the R, K, and their guests dancing away to 1990s music. It was a fantastic evening overall. Congratulations to R and K! We're extremely happy that we got to celebrate your big day with you. We <3 you both!
