South of the Border Eats: The Buffalo Edition

Shopping weekends in Buffalo (Cheektowaga, really) almost always entail a major food fest in both local eats and national food chains. Below are photos of delicious staples during our trips south of the border.

Indulgence

Ain't nothin' like waking up at dawn, driving across the border, and having breakfast at The Original Pancake House (5479 Main St, Williamsville, NY). We have been ordering an assortment of pancakes there over the years but my sister's and my favourite is the Apple Pancake. We always share a serving of this dish and still have trouble finishing it. As you can tell, it is by far the most indulgent and likely least healthy breakfast out there but I completely relate to anyone who has ever overrode such sentiments for a bite of this beaut.

We never say no to sushi!

Out of all of the food that has been and will be mentioned in this post, sushi from Fuji Grill (736 Maple Rd, Williamsville, NY) is probably what my family and I miss the most. I can order any specialty maki on their menu and I will still be satisfied. Featured on the left is the Bengal Tiger among other equally delicious dishes.

The Cheesecake Factory

A trip to Buffalo is never complete without a slice of cake or a meal at the Cheesecake Factory (1 Walden Galleria, Cheektowaga, NY). Unfortunately, their wait times and quality of service are abhorrent during the long weekends. The only consolation to eating at the Cheesecake Factory is the fact that you can shop while you wait two hours for a table. Ah, such is life. They really should do something about the wait times.

BRAVO! care of my sister

BRAVO! Cucina Italiano (1 Walden Galleria, Cheektowaga, NY) is one of the newer restaurants at Walden Galleria. I reckon it was smart of them to build their restaurant directly across the Cheesecake Factory. In doing that, they were able to capture the former's overflow and thus establish themselves with both locals and shopping Canadians. Their bar bites (happy hour food) are the best.

Good-bye meal care of Dad

The pièce de résistance to all of our shopping weekends is a meal at the Cracker Barrel. We are lucky that they have locations everywhere for a quick meal en route home. We always get the Chicken Fried Chicken with a side of fried apples, hashbrown casserole, and sweet baby carrots. Delicious!
